Today we are going to make some of that FIRE! This stuff is some serious sh*t and it tastes exactly how it sounds… Hot! This cider vinegar infusion is going to drive your immune system into overdrive with an all-star cast of herbs and spices who are working together to create the ultimate health booster. Its another recipe that requires some patience, but giving it that time to sit and do its thing is where the magic happens.

So lets begin by identifying the all star cast and their special talents that are going to be featured in this recipe

  • Apple Cider Vinegar – with the “mother” or healthy bacteria for immunity support, lower blood sugar levels, aid in weight loss and improved energy
  • Diced Onion – an immune system supporting veggie that is antimicrobial, antiviral, antioxidant, immune-enhancing, and anti-inflammatory
  • Minced fresh Garlic – Immune support superstar that helps lower risk of heart disease by lowering cholesterol and reduce blood pressure
  • Grated fresh Ginger – Increases blood circulation, aids in reducing decongestion, it’s warming properties heat the body and soothe nausea

All you have to do is combine all of the ingredients (except the honey) in a large mason jar and pour the apple cider vinegar over the ingredients and wait 30 days for it to do its magic. Shake the jar every few days and on day 30 strain the mixture and add your honey to taste and she’s ready.

Now this is some strong stuff, so here are some different ideas for cosuming or using your fire cider once its ready

  • Sip it out of a shot glass as a daily prevention of colds
  • Adding to hot water and honey is a good idea if you feel a cold coming on
  • Make a Bloody Mary!

  • Mix it with some honey to make a cough syrup

Equipment

  • 32 oz. glass Jar
  • Knive/ cutting board
  • Grater
  • Strainer

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 Gallon Apple Cider Vinegar Raw , with the mother
  • 1/3 cup Honey or more to taste, Raw (local preferable)
  • 2 tbsp Minced Garlic fresh
  • 1/2 cup Grated Turmeric fresh
  • 1/2 cup Grated Ginger fresh
  • 1/4 cup Grated Horseradish fresh
  • 1 each lemon peel
  • 2 each rosemary sprig, stem removed
  • 3 each Thyme sprig
  • 2 tsp Black Pepper Fresh Cracked
  • 1 each Jalapeño – To taste depending on spicyness can sub 1/2 tsp cayenne or more to taste

Instructions
 

  • Clean and Sanitize your Jar
  • Add all ingredients to jar except vinegar and honey
  • Pour Vinegar in jar to cover all ingredients, Place lid tightly
  • Put in a cool, dark place at room temperature and wait 30 days or more for the magic to happen, shaking the jar every few days
  • Strain and add the honey to your taste
  • Keep at room temperature or in the refrigerator for up to a year
